An exciting mix of totally original material and classic covers ranging from Classic
Rock, Melodic Rock, Slow Ballads, Funky Rock, and Vintage Rhythm & Blues. All songs
are written, recorded, produced and performed by an experienced and talented line-up.
All members hail from the South London area. The band has become regulars on the
live circuit since re-forming in 1996 and have played almost 220 Gigs. Some venues
we have played, or regularly play are:
In 2002 the band headlined in front of over 3000 people at a Queens Golden Jubilee
Celebration in the Surrey village of Upper Warlingham. Our TV debut came soon after
on Sky Digital's 'TV Showcase' - performing 3 songs on a show dedicated to Up and
Coming Bands. This has been aired numerous times since on the 'Men & Motors' and
'Showcase TV' Channels on Sky. The summer of 2004 saw the Band going to new heights
- progressing to The Festivals, playing The Maidstone River Festival, plus an amazing
slot at The Guilfest (Guildford Festival) alongside Blondie, Simple Minds and UB40.
This was the springboard to becoming a regular feature on the South London Live Stages.
In 2005 Strange Fashion continued to make a mark on the Live Circuit, and contributed
one track ‘Tough Guy’ to a 20 track CD of Unsigned Bands entitled ‘Shards’. In July
2005 we appeared at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool – the spiritual home of
The Beatles and where they appeared 292 times. 2006 saw more live performances including
bike rallies for Zinc Alloy and The Bexley Triumph Owners Club plus the recording
of our debut CD ‘Retropolis’. Live performances in 2007 included a triumphant return
to Guilfest, where copies of Retropolis were available for the first time. Appearing
over the three days were Supergrass, Squeeze, The Magic Numbers and Madness. In 2008
the band recruited 2 new faces and is working as hard as ever and celebrated Strange
Fashions’ 30th Anniversary in May 2009.
